Decades of Legal Experience

Peter C. Stein, a former prosecutor and founding president of Stein & Stein, P.C., has represented thousands of clients across Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as New York City. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, Suffolk County Criminal Bar Association, and the New York Defender’s Association. He is admitted to practice in all New York State Courts and Federal Districts.

Motivated by personal experiences as a victim of a school bus accident and police mistreatment, Mr. Stein pursued law to provide dedicated counsel to those in need.

Mr. Stein graduated from Sachem High School in 1983, financing his education through various jobs, including gas station attendant and meat truck driver. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Boston College in 1991. He worked as a paralegal at Pryor Cashman before attending Brooklyn Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1996.

He prosecuted thousands of cases involving various charges as an Assistant District Attorney. In 1998, he joined Weinstein, Kaplan & Cohen, representing banks and individuals in civil litigation. He later joined the Law Office of Peter Gierer, representing clients in civil, criminal, and landlord-tenant matters. Mr. Stein opened his law practice in January 2001.
